  • Wind power has decreased in price by 85 percent since 1980.
  • Many farmers are leasing their land: a farmer can be paid as much as $4,000 per wind turbine, and the farmer can continue to use the land for harvesting.
  • Wind is relatively safe because there is no risk for large catastrophes. There has only been one case where a person has been killed from a wind turbine: A skydiver fell into the rotating blades of a turbine.
